DESCRIPTION:
Liquid Calcium and Magnesium Complex is an easy-to-take liquid formula containing 800 mg of calcium (carbonate); 400 mg of magnesium (oxide); 200 IU vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol); and 10 mg of zinc (gluconate) in each 60 mL (4 tbsp) daily dose.
Recommended Daily Allowance: Dosage varies, depending on age.
Food Sources: Calcium: Dairy products, legumes, dark green leafy vegetables, wheat bran, sea vegetables (e.g., kelp), almonds, Brazil nuts, figs.
Magnesium: Legumes, nuts and seeds, whole grains, green leafy vegetables, blackstrap molasses, wheat germ.
Vitamin D: Sunlight is the best source; however, it is found in small amounts in fatty fish such as mackerel and salmon. Other sources are cod liver oil, eggs from chickens fed vitamin D, and milk that has been fortified with vitamin D.
Zinc: Oysters and other shellfish, fish, red meat, dark poultry meat, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds.
Causes of Deficiency: Poor dietary choices. Inadequate sunshine (vitamin D).
Symptoms of Deficiency: Deficiencies in teeth and bone development, elevated blood pressure, osteoporosis, muscle cramps.
Complementary Nutrients: Phosphorus, antioxidants.

Zinc: HIV-positive persons and those with glaucoma and hemochromatosis should not use zinc.
